For Certain They're Empty

Description

Curiosity. It always seemed to be my motive for everything. I wondered about him far too often, all these questions floating around in my mind. At some point they’d have to come out, I needed the answers far too much.

The questions weren’t the ones you’d expect them to be, not when it was regarding him. I suppose when it came to those kinds of people, the first questions out of someone’s mouth would be “How fast, how strong, how deadly?” “How many has he killed already?” “Who are his targets?” or even “Would I be safe? Can I escape?” Those questions never surfaced in my mind, they were too… unimportant, ignored and shoved to the back of my thoughts. No, I was curious about other things, and the answers needed more than a simple explanation. I just had to ask this one. It was now or-

“So if I wanted to, I could just put my hand in his ‘eyes’ and I wouldn’t feel anything?” My inquiry was obviously startling, and quite the unexpected words to be coming out of someone’s mouth regarding Twitch. For me, it was the most important question I had, and I needed to know. Were his optics black, or were the empty sockets? I needed to know for certain they’re empty, and a mere glance couldn’t tell me otherwise.

“What kind of question is that?”

I turned around, rather surprised to be getting a response from the one I was inquiring about.

“Oh, hi there Twitch,” I greeted as he came over. “It was just a question, that’s all.” I continued speaking in a very casual manner, despite the type of character he was known to be. I needed these answers badly, and I attempted to persuade him by mentioning the previous need to study his armour in an attempt to be rather accurate for future reference. He had agreed, perhaps reluctantly, to let me observe and work out what I needed to.

He thought a moment, recalling the first encounter. “Yes, yes, I did say that… but be careful dear, my ‘optics’ can be very sensitive… the wiring inside is… delicate.”

Wait, was he actually proposing I’d be allowed to stick my hand in his optics? It was rather unexpected, but… I wouldn’t let this opportunity slip away easily, and I planned to do anything I could to continue persuading him. I felt a twinge of pain in my heart though, and let out a strange noise before speaking.

“I promise I won’t hurt you, if that’s what will happen if I touch them the wrong way.” I continued on, pointing out everything in favor of me sticking my hands in the seemingly black holes on his face. “I have small hands anyway, so I shouldn’t have a problem avoiding actually touching you when I stick my hands in. I was just… curious is all…” I finished, lowering my head a little, embarrassed at my own ambition.

“Fine,” he spoke, laughing a little before bending down until I was level with his optics.

I let out a strained noise, still afraid I might hurt him on accident before I balled my hand into a fist and hesitantly reached out towards him, moving it into the empty socket. I gasped in surprise, completely empty! I tested the space inside, slowly uncurling my fingers and wiggling them around.

“Satisfied, human~?” He chuckled.

More than satisfied, I knew for certain all they were was an empty pair of sockets. But with the new answer, I felt a rush of new questions coming on. What was his vision like? What did it look like I was doing while my hand was in his optics? There were so many more running through my head, but I pulled my hand out and nodded, smiling with satisfaction. The new questions would have to wait, but for now, the delight of this new discovery was enough to keep my curiosity at bay.

I dunno, more stupid writing to go with an art piece. XD Based on the short lived roleplay, I just spruced it up a bit and made it 10 times longer. Just something I was curious about and I ended up sticking my fist in his eye to find out.

Also, WARNING* INACURATE SIZE DIFFERENCE.

WARNING* UNCONFIRMED IF TWITCH HAS TEETH OR NOT. (I JUST WANTED TO DRAW HIM THAT WAY.)

For one, I have the inability to estimate these things, but I’m sure I’m fairly smaller than this compared to him. So ignore height wise and take it up with his creator about if he has teeth and if they even look like this, but enjoy the art and written perspective of it. As I’ve said before, nothing is cannon unless you hear it from her.

Also, Twitch has a really really nice profile. Like, it’s not only good looking, but it’s a lot of fun to draw.

Anyway, enjoy if you’d like~
